Physio Assistant and Reception
Jen was born and raised in WA’s south. Countless hours spent helping on the farm sparked Jen’s love of the outdoors (and dislike for sheep!) Jen played netball from the age of 6 and, during highschool, weekends were spent traveling to Albany for school netball and, later, all over the Great Southern for regional development squad. Jen represented her high-school in country week hockey, volleyball and netball, and was awarded fairest and best in her year 12 A1 team.
Jen moved to Perth in 1998 to complete a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education at UWA. After three years of study, Jen was unsure exactly which path to take, so she took a year off to travel. That year turned in to ten years in Port Lincoln, South Australia, where she worked in hospitality, the fitness industry and as a sports trainer for one of the local footy clubs.
Jen married and had two children, before home-sickness set in. Fortunately, her husband’s FIFO work allowed flexibility in where they lived, so Jen convinced her him that “West is best” and they made the move back to WA in late 2010. There was no doubt in her mind that the South West was where they would live and they welcomed baby number 3, shortly after.Jen loves to spend her spare time exploring the South West and enjoying the outdoors, with her family. Summers are spent camping, at the beach or out on the boat (vainly attempting to catch “the big one”) while Winter is full of bush walks and bike rides.
Mum-life can be quite hectic, but exercise is Jen’s therapy! Jen has completed half marathons and triathlons and dabbles in a bit of personal training, on the side. She has been quite lucky, injury-wise, but is very grateful to have such a “smorgasbord” of therapies on offer at Margaret River Health Centre, for those odd occasions she over-does it!
