Tim O’Grady
Naturopath, Medical Herbalist and Massage Therapist
Tim grew up in the suburbs of Perth and was largely unappreciative of his stable and secure existence, spending most of his time wishing he was somewhere else. Surfing captured his imagination and ultimately became his muse for extended travels.
His first degree in Science, specialising in Environmental Management, helped enhance his love and understanding of the natural world. In particular, it sparked a strong interest in ecology and it’s attempts to explain the complex relationships between animals, plants and their environment.
These understandings were to prove useful during his second degree in Naturopathy; an art, science and philosophy that aims to improve health holistically, with the knowledge that there are many causes of ill-health and that vitality can only be regained by addressing all of these factors. He graduated with the Metagenics Award for Excellence in the area of Clinical Nutrition in 2005, and now has over 10 years of experience in clinical practice.
His particular areas of clinical expertise relate to the gut microbiota and digestive health. He has extensive experience in treating IBS and other conditions of the digestive tract, including those not so obviously related, particularly autoimmune diseases, poor immunity, allergies, headaches, inflammatory conditions and anxiety and depression.
Tim’s extensive training and experience means that you can be confident he knows when naturopathic treatment is appropriate and when medical care is necessary. He is also experienced in using naturopathic medicine complementary to mainstream care to achieve better outcomes, and is highly regarded by local general practitioners and other health professionals.
Tim is also a dedicated remedial massage therapist, with a range of well-honed soft tissue techniques to help ease pain and help you feel looser and more relaxed. He enjoys working in partnership with the physiotherapists at Margaret River Health Centre to help get people back on track.
A busy father of two, Tim still manages to get the odd surf in.
